Taapsee Pannu plays the role of a Gujarati athlete named Rashmi in Akarsh Khurana’s directorial venture, Rashmi Rocket.
According to sources, the film is all set for a direct-to-digital release and its rights have been acquired by an OTT platform for a massive amount of Rs 58 crores.
From vigorous training sessions to behind-the-scene pictures from the film's sets, Taapsee Pannu kept her fans hooked to the making of the sports drama Rashmi Rocket.
Now, sources say that the film will take the digital route. The statement read, “Rashmi Rocket is going for a direct-to-digital release for a big 58 crores amount! This is the highest for any female-centric film we have seen that is releasing digitally.
We are yet to hear more details about this one but given the content-driven landscape of the industry that we are witnessing, it looks promising.”
Taapsee Pannu penned a heartfelt note after wrapping up the shoot of Rashmi Rocket in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, in January.
Taapsee can be seen walking away in desert with her arms open in the photo she posted on Instagram. The actress wrote, “Not sure if I have the time and space to explain how this film actually happened.
From the basic storyline I heard in Chennai 3 years back to actually complete its filming against all odds in these challenging times. This was one hell of a driven team effort!”
